A symposium on the many ways in which gender and identities are performed on the page in literature for middle-grade (MG) and young adult (YA) readers.
This is an interdisciplinary symposium, featuring academic papers on specific texts, themes and/or theoretical approaches, focused on fiction and nonfiction for young people.
Read the program and abstracts here.
Places at the symposium to hear these papers will be limited, but open to university and college staff, postgraduates, writers, illustrators, educators, librarians, researchers, and industry professionals.
The symposium goes over two days. You can book for both days, or only one day.
Morning and afternoon tea are provided. Lunch is not (sorry).
